The A·lift Gallery 'PLATFORM'

The A·lift Gallery 'PLATFORM' will present a solo exhibition of CHO Yeou-jui on June, showcasing a number of her recent paintings. CHO lived and worked in New York before she moved to Hong Kong. Her works combine realistic and abstract elements, depicting the cluttered corner and landscape in the city with delicate brushstrokes that capture the stillness of time and the passage of years. After she moved to Hong Kong, she works on the theme of landscape and employs oriental scene as the element of creation. CHO's landscape paintings also show the visual impression of illusory, those water stains and mist like wind and fire, penetrating the trace and image of time, embodying the motif of "Time flies, you have to cherish. It would not bother whether it rains or shines".

CHO Yeou-jui was born in Taiwan. She graduated from National Taiwan Normal University with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts. She obtained her Master of Arts in in State University of New York in 1976. Since then, she lived and worked in New York as a professional artist. Her left her footprints in different countries such as America, Eastern and Western Europe, Eastern Southern and Northern Asia, also in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. She taught in National Changhua University of Education in 1995 and Taitung Teachers College in 2000. She was an Assistant Professor in Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University from 2005 to 2011.
